The Most Dangerous
Intersection in the Area
A 2017 report by the River to Sea Transportation Planning Organization found that Port Orange is home to the single most dangerous intersection in Volusia and Flagler counties, located at SR 421 (Dunlawton Ave.) & SR 5A (South Nova Rd.). There were 145 recorded crashes at this location involving 271 vehicles between 2011 and 2015, totaling nearly a half-million dollars in property damage alone. When you consider that the third and fourth most dangerous intersections in the area are located right next to the Daytona International Speedway, it becomes clear that traffic influxes have a considerable impact on the community of Port Orange.
Is a No-Fault Insurance State
Florida takes a "no-fault" stance on insurance when it comes to car accidents
. Motorists are required to carry an insurance policy that provides a minimum of $10,000 in coverage for injuries and $10,000 in coverage for property damage resulting from a car crash. If your losses exceed these totals, or if your injuries are considered permanent, you have the right to file a car accident claim against the other driver
