Roxie Courson

Roxie Courson Roxie began her legal career in 1973 working for an insurance defense firm in Daytona Beach. After two years there, she began working as a legal secretary to an attorney who specialized in plaintiff’s personal injury and decided that was her true calling. After nine years at that firm she joined Chanfrau & Chanfrau in 1985 as Bill Chanfrau Sr.’s personal secretary/legal assistant. She continues to work directly for Bill Sr. as his personal secretary while also assisting in the organization and maintenance of his cases, as well as performing various administrative duties. Roxie’s husband is a victim of an automobile crash which rendered him an incomplete quadriplegic. This has helped her develop a special empathy for injured clients.

Roxie Courson

Roxie tells us about the devastating accident that rendered her husband paralyzed. It drove her to help individuals in similar situations collect compensation for their injuries and other losses. She is a paralegal with the firm, and her daughter works with her as an administrative assistant.

Amanda Brown

Amanda Manley Amanda was born and raised in Ormond Beach. She graduated from Daytona State College with an A.A.S Degree in Paralegal Studies in the fall of 2010. Amanda began her career at Chanfrau & Chanfrau in 2010 as the administrative assistant and quickly escalated to a pre-litigation paralegal. Amanda is currently a paralegal for William M. Chanfrau Jr. and Kelly Chanfrau handling our personal injury cases in both pre-lit and litigation.

Amanda Brown is an esteemed and detail-oriented paralegal. Day in and day out, Amanda helps clients overcome personal struggles by paying close attention to each client's story. Her kindness and compassion does not go unnoticed, and clients continue to pour in for the firm's service.

Laura Brown

Laura Brown Laura is the Senior Pre-Litigation Paralegal to William M. Chanfrau, Jr. She began her legal career in 2002 and has proudly been a part of the Chanfrau team since 2009. Laura was born in 1983 in Miami, Florida and relocated to New Smyrna Beach with her family in 1984, where she now resides with her husband and family. She graduated from Daytona State College in 2003 and also holds a 2-20 Commercial Lines Insurance license. Laura prides herself in the support she provides to her clients and is accompanied by her legal assistants, Ashley Miller and Kimberlee Kelly. Together, they serve each client with the personal attention they deserve.

Laura Brown tells us why she became a paralegal and what drives her to provide excellent client service. She loves to be there for her clients in their time of need to give them extra support. She tells us of the dedicated work ethic of every team member and how it typically results in client satisfaction.

Melanie Schacht

Melanie Schacht Melanie has been with Chanfrau & Chanfrau since 2014. She started her with the title of legal assistant but currently works as a paralegal. Melanie was born in Macon, Georgia and attended Lanier High School. She also attended Delta State University, Mississippi State University, Mississippi Delta Community College and Kaplan College all for Paralegal Studies. She has been a legal assistant as well as a paralegal since 1996 in areas of criminal law, labor law, wills, trusts, probate, real estate and corporate.

Melanie Schacht

Melanie Schacht tells us how she became a paralegal and why she continues to help clients in need. She has been offering her skills and services for over 20 years and strives to look out for persons wrongfully terminated or discriminated against. She focuses on all areas of law but has a special interest in employment law.

Diane worked in banking for several years, then started with the Chanfrau family in 2013. Diane graduated from Atlantic High School in 2002 then attended Daytona Beach Community College.

Kimberlee Kelly Brooke is the firm's Marketing Coordinator. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a B.S. degree in Hospitality Management from the Rosen College of Hospitality. White at the University of Central Florida she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and held many different positions within her sorority and Panhellenic Council. She has always had a passion for marketing and social media. She loves working for Chanfrau & Chanfrau and could not ask for a better team to be a part of.

Betsy Mathena - Accountant

Betsy is a licensed CPA and is the firm’s accountant. She has been with Chanfrau & Chanfrau since 2009 and is responsible for all functions encompassing the accounting cycle – from day-to-day paying of bills, deposits and payroll to the review of trust accounts and general ledger reconciliations and analysis. She is a Seabreeze High School graduate and attended Daytona Beach Community College (AA Degree), University of Central Florida (BSBA – Accounting). Betsy worked as a certified public accountant with KPMG, one of the big four international accounting firms, was a Senior Budget & Financial Analyst, Accounting Manager and Amenities Controller at ITT-CDC, an Accounting Manager at Daytona State College, Controller at Eli Bailey, Inc., Controller at Continental Property Services and has worked independently providing accounting services to local businesses.
